Downtown, Creek Street, and the Fish Ladder, Ketchikan, AK, Monday, August 14, 2017

After our cruise on the Aleutian Ballard, we continued to play tourists downtown.

There is a statue dedicated to the history of Ketchikan.

We then walked to the infamous Creek Street, "where fish and fisherman go up the creek to spawn."

Creek Street led to Married Man's Trail, a route for discreet comings and goings.

Because of the waterfalls on Ketchikan Creek, the city built a fish ladder to make it easier for the salmon to swim upstream.

It is hard to see in this photo, but everywhere around the fish ladder and the falls, we could see hundreds of these salmon trying to get upstream.

And then it was off to dinner at Annabelles Keg and Chowder House.  We shared crab dip, then Megan had half a dungeoness crab, Patty had prawns and I had salmon - an excellent repast after a great day in Ketchikan.
