We spent a week in Portland visiting the kids, including helping Ben. As with Netarts, many colorful flowers were in bloom in Portland.
We said goodbye to Megan, Piper, Martha, Ben and Stowe, and flew home to Phoenix for one night, Then we drove to Sedona for the last two thirds of July. There were multiple trails in area around our rental, as well as a mix of local residents and rental properties. Our rental was within walking distance of Crescent Moon Day Use Area, a state park.
We enjoyed our rental, it was very spacious and had air conditioning. This was very important as Sedona is only 3500 feet elevation, so while it was cooler than Phoenix, it was still pretty hot - so hot that I would not recommend going there in the heat of the summer. Scenery and hiking were very nice, you just had to hike early in the morning, not at midday or afternoon.,
