Natural beauty in Portland May 3 and 4, 2016

Tuesday started out as a bright sunny day.  On my early morning walk with Shadow, we covered nearly two miles in about 50 minutes (Shadow does not walk quickly anymore).  We came across many lovely flowers.

Each of these was taken about six inches away from the flowers, so the size you see reflects the relative size.

The weather turned cloudy Tuesday afternoon and by Wednesday morning, it was a gray, cloudy day with intermittent showers - the low ceiling caused Patty's flying lesson to be cancelled.  In spite of the gloomy weather, on our afternoon walk, Mr. Shadow and I still found much color.  As above, all of these were taken about six inches from the flower so the relative size is roughly accurate.

In spite of his advancing age and slower speed, Mr. Shadow still enjoys going on long walks with me, especially when I stop regularly to take photos and give him an occasional cookie.
