We Continue to Stay at Home due to Covid-19, May 28 - June 3, 2020

We have beautiful sunsets here in Flagstaff.

One of the projects we did was spread ten bags of organic cedar bark mulch in our front yard, around the plants we have.

Of course, we need to have cut flowers to make our dining room table complete.

One day, we visited Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument, about 15 miles north of Flagstaff.  Only four trails were open, so we hiked three of them.

Lots of downed trees with fascinating shapes.

An interesting spatter cone.

We even came across a small cactus in bloom.

We learned about a squeeze up.

While it has been about a 1,000 years since the last eruption, in places plants still struggle to gain a foot hold.

After hiking the Lava Flow Trail and the Bonita Vista Trail, we hiked the A'a trail - it reminded us of our hikes in Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii.

On one of my hikes past the duck pond, I heard some peeps and sure enough, in the middle of the pond was momma and her babies.

On another hike, we came across more wild flowers.

Megan made new masks for us - she sent several of each design, and they can be washed as needed.

And it was only a year ago that Ben and Martha left me speechless when they surprised me by meeting up with us in Amboise, France, for my 70th birthday - will we ever be able to travel like that again?
