Friday the 13th in Prescott, July 13, 2018

Friday the 13th is a rare event, with many strange and odd things blamed on the date.  Here is a quote from the local Arizona newspaper:

If you have trouble sleeping this Friday, don’t blame it on being 13th day of the month.

Blame it on the weather.

Friday the 13th gets a bad rap from the superstitious, but your sleeplessness might have more to do with hot, muggy conditions.

According to Sleepopolis, a Website that provides reviews and comparisons of mattresses, July 13 is the date when Arizonans can expect the most uncomfortable combination of heat and humidity. The analysis looked at overnight temperatures, hours of sunlight and the probability of high humidity in all 50 states for the past 36 years.

For a change today, we decided to go out for breakfast and walked to the Rustic Pie restaurant, less than a ten minute walk from our rental in Prescott.  We passed by some of our neighbor's mail boxes.

We passed by some flowers on the way.

We easily reached the restaurant - they have many antique vehicles there, including a Ford truck, Mercedes sedan and a motorcycle.

Patty had quiche and coffee, I had a breakfast sandwich with orange juice, and for dessert, we shared some tasty blueberry pie.

Nothing superstitious for us today (at least as of the time of writing this post) - just a normal Friday with a return to the rental, then walking to Lotus Bloom Yoga Studio and the Prescott YMCA, and since it is monsoon season, thunderstorms all afternoon.
