Exploring in Ourense on May 16

Saturday May 16 we started out by wandering around Ourense and exploring the city center.

We knew that we wanted to go to the thermal baths and were told that the train cost 0.80 Euros and that it left from Plaza Mayor (Praza Maior in Gallegos).  So we finally found that and had a cup of coffee at Cafe Druida while we waited for the hourly train.

We took the train - not a bus - out to Outariz Thermal baths.  The baths were free.  We changed into our swim suits and soaked in the water for a while.  Then we sat in the shade and had a cold beer before heading back into town.  And while it is called a train and looks like a train, it really is a tram that goes on the paved bike path and streets.

Back in town, we walked around and found some interesting scupltures and flowers, and had a nice lunch at L.A. Central restaurant.

Back at the hotel, we had a siesta before going out wandering around and finding a place to have dinner on Calle de los Vinos - we enjoyed a couple of bottles of AlbariƱo wine with octopus, potatoes, pork, pasta and other goodies.

We had great fun people watching until dark, around 10:30, before heading back to the hotel for the night.
