Tillamook County Creamery Visitor Center and Cape Lookout State Park May 22, 2016

On Sunday, we had a nice breakfast at our hotel.  I had gone out for a walk in the rain before breakfast and found this nice park just north of downtown Tillamook - the Hoquarton Interpretive Trail that is adjacent to the Hoquarton Slough.

We then visited the Tillamook County Creamery Visitor Center, where we took the self guided tour and saw how they made and packaged the cheeses, especially the cheddar cheese line that was going even though it was Sunday mornin.

We then headed south to Cape Lookout State Park.  Many nice trails to hike and many miles of beach to walk.  In spite of the wind and rain, the beach was busy - and we had an enjoyable time exploring.

I don't know why they grow like this, but while in the forest we came across many trees with large exposed roots.

Some people were fishing from shore

Damage from storms
The trails were nicely laid out and in good condition.

Did I mention they had large exposed roots?

This section of beach was being restored after storm damage - the trees that were still there had suffered a lot but helped hold some of the dunes.

After the park, we then headed back home - it had been a pleasant weekend in spite of the less than ideal weather.
