Julianne comes to visit, March 6 - 12, 2019

Julianne flew in nonstop on Wednesday March 6, arriving around 10:30.  After retrieving her luggage, we went home for an easy day.  She got introduced to Paulie and went on several walks with the dog, as well as to the grocery store with me.

Thursday, we three drove to the 7th Street Visitor Center for North Mountain Park and hiked on route 100 under 7th Street and across a couple of miles to go under Cave Creek Drive.  We enjoyed all the beautiful wildflowers in bloom.

Friday morning, I went to my PT appointment at 7:00 and then we three went to White Tank Mountain Park to hike the Waterfall Trail - an easy and pleasant hike, again with many wildflowers in bloom - there was even some water falling on the waterfall.

Saturday, we just took it easy.  Sunday, we spent three hours at Liberty Wildlife Rehab Center, learning about many raptors and more.  That afternoon, we enjoyed "linner" at The Windsor with Anne, Shawn, Jane and Cathy.

Monday morning, we ran errands and otherwise took it easy.  Then we went to Hole In the Rock in Papago Park, just before sunset.  Mimicking Sisyphus in the Greek myth, pushing a rock up the hill, Patty and Julie posed for me.

The sunset was spectacular.

Then we enjoyed the Klip Cooperative's Electric Light Show at the Desert Botanical Garden.  Tuesday, I headed off to my day as docent at the DBG and Patty drove Julie to Tucson to meet Maureen, where Julie will stay for a week before returning to the cold and snow of New England.
