Gila, NM, is ranch country, with much of the land including water rights from the Gila River and tributaries like Bear Creek. One of the largest ranches is Lyons and Campbell.
We watch great sunsets from the kitchen end of our rental.
From reading the history of Bear Paw Ranch, we learned that the owners made their living from buying and selling heavy equipment and collecting antiques. There are reminders of this all over the ranch.
The ranch even has a small museum in what looks like had been a small general store. They sell tote bags, tee shirts, hats and more with Bear Paw Ranch logo, as well as peacock feathers from the resident peacocks and peahens that live on the ranch.
There are several irrigation ditches bringing water from the Gila River to several ponds, one of which has resident ducks, and there three other rental cabins besides the one we are renting.
Looking back down the road to our rental, here is a view of the rental and the mountains beyond (the cabin is just visible in the middle of the first photo, the second photo is taken from the same spot but just zoomed in on the cabin).

On the hill just above our rental, they have what the owner calls the equipment field with all manner of equipment I cannot figure out.
