Week 2, Day 2 of building

Another great work day - partly cloudy and pleasantly cool, although the wind was blowing regularly all day.  Today was such a busy day, I hardly had time to take photos.  House #4 has windows installed.

The roof was finished on house #4.

They started the finishing work on the walls as well.

House #5 has some relatives on the Darkhan Fire Dept. and a whole crew of them came in uniform to work.  They arrived in a Russian made pumper truck and were quite proud to have their pictures taken.

On house #3, I helped the crew shovel in and level a large amount of sand for the floor.

And they continued to put the roof on house #3.

Mid-afternoon, a large truck arrived with the blocks for house #6 - that will be the fourth house we work on - go team!!!  It was great fun unloading the truck - about ten people were involved in unloading all of the blocks.

Back on house #5, the firefighters team was glad to have my height again today, as I was able to do many things from the ground without the need for scaffolding - they are an enthusiastic and hardworking crew.

The roof neared completion on house #3.

And finishing of the interior walls of house #3 was begun.

And house #4.

Here is a video of Thai and Minh at "date night in Mongolia."

Those firefighters have nearly finished the framing of the roof and will be ready to install the roof tomorrow.

At the end of the day, we were all pretty exhausted and ready for the 45 minute ride back to the hotel.

With work on three houses (and tomorrow a fourth) we have far exceeded the original plan of two houses.  And now it is time for our daily team meeting and then off to dinner.
