Englischhausen Reception and on to Schloss Blumenthal Oct. 4 - 5

Saturday evening, all of the Anglos except one made it to the reception.  Englischhausen provides a nice welcome reception and dinner.  I met Luke when he worked for the Pueblo Ingles division of Diverbo, and he welcomed all of us as we arrived.  We also met Jason, our emcee for the week, and Peter, our program director for the week.  Dinner consisted of horseradish soup to which you had the the option of adding tiny shrimp, roast pork in a wine sauce, two types of Bavarian dumplings with a mushroom sauce, and warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce.

I went home after dinner, but some of the younger Anglos went out for a couple of hours of Oktoberfest.  Sunday morning, we met again and had a pleasant hour ride to Schloss Blumenthal in Aichach, Germany.  The hotel is a beautiful old community.  I have a unique room, with a bathroom that is multilevel - three steps up to the toilet and shower.

There are many unique and artistic things in the hotel, including this chandelier made of old tea cups.
