More wandering around Schloss Blumenthal Wednesday Oct. 8

I continue to learn about the community that lives and works here at Schloss Blumenthal.  There are clearly many artists who have been involved with the design.  In the breakfast room, we meet regularly several times a day, both for breakfast and for meeting our students for one-to-ones.  It wasn't until this morning that I looked more closely at the lighting.  Above the big table where we regularly meet and eat, the ceiling light is a collection of upside down lamps.

The lights on the walls are a collection of more lamps - each one is different.

There is a posed photograph using the large table (pictured above, below the upside down lamps) of some of the artists.  The table is outside the front door of the building (the one with the large vine; I posted photos of that earlier in the week).  The artists appear to be posed in the positions of the people in the famous painting of the Last Supper by Leonardo DaVinci.

All of the rooms in which guests sleep have been individually designed by different artists and every room is different - I only realized this after talking with other Anglos here at Englischhausen - most of the rooms have different artwork in the hall way and pictures telling who designed that room.  Here is a sampling from my floor.

Wednesday, all 24 of us took a walk into Aichach - it is a beautiful town built in the traditional Bavarian style.

Schloss Blumenthal is also active farming community.  In addition to the donkeys and horses I posted earlier, they also have llamas right outside the back door of the building with hotel rooms.
