Patty Visited Austria, April 4 - 13, 2017

Patty visited Austria as part of a group led by my friend Renate and her husband Glenn.  Renate works part time during the school year as the admin support for the Business and Economics Department at JSC.  She and her husband also run the Fliedermaus Teahouse in Johnson.  This was their first time leading a group of people to Austria, and they stayed at the Hotel Emmersdorf an Donau.  This trip coincided with her birthday.  I got these photos from my sister Helen who was also on the trip, as was my friend and former colleague/boss Jean.

Here are Helen, Patty and Jean after the long overnight flights from the USA.  Helen and Jean flew from Boston, Patty flew from Portland, OR.

They celebrated Patty's birthday.

Here is a group photo of them all.  Renate is kneeling on the left and Glenn is on the right.  Renate is originally from Germany, and her mother joined the group for a couple of days.

They visited the Mauthausen Concentration Camp.

And they visited the Melk Abbey.

They also visited some wineries, farms, cathedrals and museums, and enjoyed good food and wine.  And they also visited the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Austria, a traditional riding school for Lipizzan horses.
