Early morning arts walk, Hope, B.C., Thursday, August 3, 2016

Art and music are important parts of life, and I need to be reminded of this.  As I took my morning stroll, I came across these paintings done as part of a youth art workshop "Different Like Me" in 2013.  It changes an ordinary brick wall into something more.

A nearby building was rebuilt in 1985 and commemorates the 300th birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach.

A local Native Arts Gallery has murals on one side of the building.

Instead of a billboard, a directional sign has been painted on the side of building which includes an accurate rendering of gallery.

The Hope Visitors Centre and Information Office has a cute mural which you can stand behind to put your faces into a picture of canoeing down the Fraser River.

The Hope Arts Gallery is a non-profit run by the District Arts Council and includes a Paul Bunyan sized pencil, paint brush and palette.

And another mural shows what the city looked like in years past, changing an otherwise bland building into a point of pride.
