I got up early and walked on the Clovis multi-use trail, but this time away from the old downtown area. I discovered that they have an excellent trail system, complete with maps, emergency call boxes, underpasses or overpasses at major streets, and many nice plantings along the trails.
After breakfast at the hotel, it was less than a four hour drive from Clovis to Napa. Napa is a much larger city than we had imagined. Our hotel for the next three nights was the White House Napa Inn - it was closed for three months while being renovated, and we were only the second people to stay in our room on the third floor.
Then we ambled back to the White House Inn for the complementary daily wine social and sat by the pool outside in the delightful weather. While there, we had visitors to the pool. And yes, although the pool was 58 degrees, I did go for a swim.

After checking in and leaving our luggage, we walked to the Oxbow Market and had a late lunch at the Hog Island Oyster Bar. We had clam chowder where the clams were still attached to the shells.
