The rest of the week in Cozumel March 22 - 26

On Tuesday, Patty was not feeling well, so we did not dive.  So we stayed on land while everyone else went diving.  Here is a view from the porch of our room.

We went for a long walk Tuesday morning and ended up going south to the new port where multiple cruise ships can dock simultaneously.  It is huge and allows for up to seven ships that we could see from outside the walled off port area. There were so many people, buses and taxis, that we jokingly referred to the scene as cruise ship mayhem.

We came across many beautiful flowers.

The maid for our room was quite the artist, leaving different sculptures made from the towels.

Although the stormy weather had stopped, there were still some cloudy sunsets.

One afternoon, I took a long walk to the north and came across this beautiful plaza in the median between the north bound and south bound lanes.  It was for the Potable Water Authority of Cozumel and included statues, plantings and even a replica of a Mayan temple.

There are lots of murals painted on the outsides of buildings.  On my regular walks, I saw many of them.  One reminded me of the artwork done by my niece Jennifer and one of a turtle reminded me of my sister Helen's love of turtles.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday were dive days, with two dives per day, plus Wednesday afternoon was a wreck dive.  Friday evening, we gathered for a group gathering and photos, with snacks and b.y.o.b. drinks.  Here are the ladies in our group.

And Saturday, our fun week ended with an easy flight to Houston and then being able to change to an earlier flight to Phoenix, arriving home at 8:30.  A very nice week of diving in a comfortable hotel with good food.
