A quick trip to Phoenix Sept. 29 - Oct. 2, 2016

On Thursday morning the 29th, Patty and I took Shadow to Howliday Inn and then drove to the airport, where we left the car for Ben to retrieve later.  Our flight was delayed about 30 minutes on departure and then further on arrival as we later learned the fire alarm had gone off in the Phoenix control tower.  So I missed my 2:00 p.m. dentist appointment, but did go out for a walk and was surprised to see that there were flowers in bloom in Phoenix.

Thursday evening, we just took it easy and made sure everything was in place.  Friday we hung out and then went to Lauren and Blaise's wedding at 4:00.  It had some Jewish rituals but also some Christian parts.  After, at the reception and dinner, we sat with Anne and Shawn, Jane and Cathy, Meg and Tommy (Lauren's parents) and Meg's friend Janet.  We stayed until about 8:15, when we gave Shawn a ride home and then went home.  The party went into the early morning hours, but we did not participate.

Saturday morning, we met Jane, Anne, Bob and Marianne and walked on the Bridle Path for about an hour.  Then we attended the brunch and visited with everyone for a couple of hours.  Saturday afternoon and evening, we went to Anne's house for the 70th birthday party for her brother Bob.  And then it was home about 8:30 as we had to leave the house Sunday at 5:45 to return the rental car and catch our 7:45 flight back to Portland.
